I don't even know where to start. This is the band that got me into the whole thing. The band that changed my taste in music, and made me discover so, so much more. This is a great screamo band from Sweden. They have some ambiental influences and a lot of feelings. They are known for their awesome live performances, and they are actually going on a Europe tour this April with Pianos Become The Teeth, a post-rock/screamo band from the states. It is one of my goals in life to see them play, and it seems like it's finally going to happen (if they only would release the dates!) Also, the band members have a lot of side-projects, and it seems like everything these guys touches turns to gold. Anyway, this is a wonderful band, so check them out.

Die, Emperor! Die!
This was a duo (2003-2005) that consisted of Kirke Campbell (guitar and vox) and Brad Bingham (drums), and they made fantastic screamo. Many think that this is the most definitive screamo band ever, and I (among others) think that December Stars Could Never Match Your Eyes is the greatest song in the scene. Their demo is probably one of the greatest releases ever, and I've heard rumours that in at least one of the songs on their acoustic record they play on an untuned guitar and use a garbage can instead of drums. I wouldn't be surprised if this is true. Kirke apperently played in Treetops as well, which is a really good lo-fi emo band that I thought I'd blog about another time. The screams are real and emotional (none of that "frying" crap) and they've given me many great moments.
At least check the demo out, ok?

Circle Takes The Square
This is probably the most violent band I'll upload to this blog. I think that all members of the band are singing/screaming, which is one of the reasons to why I like them so much. Words that can describe them are "chaotic", "violent" and "awesome. I love their way to play, and I've never heard anything like this before, and I guess that it's the same for you. They've been around since 2001 I think, and as far as I know they are still playing together.
Perhaps I should mention that some are the songs are actually very beautiful and a bit post-rock/ambient-ish There isn't much more to say than that they are really popular, and probably the most mainstream of all bands that are defined as real screamo.

Btw, I might have some problems to update this blog as often as I would want to, due to some technical problems at home. This, for example, was written during class. Also, I noticed that there were more bands than I thought on Spotify.

1905
So, I was thinking of posting som bands with both male and female vocalists, and I'm starting out with a band called 1905. They were a skram band with clear hardcore influences. The lyrics are political, and the singing varies from beautiful singing and intense screaming. They broke up in 2005, and left a full length and a split with Amanda Woodward behind.
If I ever start a band I'd probably want it to sound something like this (EDIT: FYI, I would also like to be in a band that sounds like Cap'n Jazz, Knapsack, a punk band, a post-metal band and an acoustic folk/street musician band)
