So here's another riot-grrrl band from US, Bratmobile. First formed in the early 90's but disbanded 1994, and reunited 1999 just to break up again 2004.  Bratmobile are one of the founders of the riot-grrrl scene with their punk energy combined with feminist politics.

The Assassinators

Why do all the good bands have to break up? Well, this is a double female-fronted band from our neighbours down south; Denmark. I'd call it melodic punk/hardcore, but they labeled themselves as anarcho-pop. You can download all their songs on their website.

This is some raw, angry crusty hardcore riot grrrl-shit right here! Aweseome punk rock from Scania (south part of Sweden). Sometimes you can hear their accent, and I find it hilarious.

I really don't know how to describe these guys, so I'll let their official webiste do it for me;

 The seminal speed-metal ukulele pioneers; the quintessential power pop ukulele band of the `90s.  At one time, they wielded their mighty, four-stringed instruments like hammers of the gods.      They wrote and played loud, aggressive songs on tiny four-stringed instruments.  Sometimes it even sounded good.

Riddarna is a trio from Sweden. They released their debut album a few weeks ago. The band plays a mixture of music based on rock, grunge, punk and alternativ. The music has many contrasts, such as: soft and hard, screams and falsetto, anger and happiness. They play a great modern rock that makes you bounce with joy ... or anxiety. Any case, it is wonderful and you can not help but love their roarings and howling. Finally, innovative hard rock music.

Terrible Feelings

Terrible Feelings is a punk band from Malmö, Sweden. They play easy punk rock, kind of like Massysteri. Lyrics in English, though. I think they're going to tour in Europe this summer. Well, I'm to tired to write anything decent, so this is what you get.

4 girls from Japan playing hardcore punk the way it should be; fast, angry and crazy. This is awesome and full of energy. It's nice to hear a cute japanese girl scream her lungs out the throat in Japanese. I found them through 4chan's /mu/. Don't you just love the Internet sometimes?
This is their EP, but they've also released a demo tape, a split with some japanese band I've never heard about and made a track on a compilation. Couldn't find any of them, sorry. Apperently they are working on a new album.

Sleater-Kinney

Sleater-Kinney was one of the most influential punk rock bands of the past two decades. They formed in the riot grrrl scene in Olympia, Washington in 1994 by Corin Tucker and Carrie Brownstein. Janet Weiss later joined the line-up.Their musical style can be described as the freethinking alternative and indie-rock that appeared during the 1980s-1990s. With importance from punk. Their lyric was significant during the riot grrrl wave of content with political and feminist elements. The mixture of everything turns into a perfect harsh noise. Much to the chagrin of indie music lovers, the band disbanded 2006.

Haven't posted in a while, I know. My computer has basically killed itself, and now I'm in school, doing this during class.
Anyway, behind this (in my opinion) great name hides a british guy who "wrote these songs out of frustration and sadness", according to his Myspace. I think it turned out great, but I'm a bit sad that his pain becomes my pleasure.He claims to be "anti-folk inspired by punk and outsider music", and I think that 's a pretty good and accurate description. Give it a listen, it's really good. I mean, I have the first song (Welcome To Castle Irewell) as my ringtone.
Also, at his Myspace, he claims to be influenced by Knapsack (among a whole lot of others).

Minor Threat

So, I'm starting to listen more and more to punk.... again (and to be honest, I don't really know why I stop). This is one of the greatest hardcore punk-band ever. These guys, fronted by Ian MacKaye, did by mistake create the whole Straight Edge sub-culture, and are basically known as the first "real" hardcore band (by the side of such bands as Black Flag and Bad Brains) They started out in 1980, after the break up of the Teen Idles, where MacKaye and some other guy(s?) of MT played, and though they broke up in '83, they've changed the world. Thanks to them, kids all over the world are wearing X's on the backs of their hands, none of them drinking, smoking or other stuff like that. All because of a song of 47secs. Pretty amazing, huh?

Wavves

So this is my first post in the blog.
I will recommend a band that I really like because of their playful way to express themselves through music. Anyway, the music makes me really happy. They're called Wavves and is a lo-fi/surf/punk/noise pop band from California. They released their self-titled debut album in 2008. Right now, the band consists of three members; Nathan Williams, Stephen Pope and Billy Hayes. I actually saw them this summer at a music festival. They were totally awesome! Check them out!
