Unkie

Unkie is a japanese instrumental rock/math-rock trio that wasn't meant to be a band at all. If I got it right, they were supposed to play one gig together, but they decided to keep on playing.
I found out about them last night, and I got stuck. I've only had time to listen to their first album, The Price Of Fame, but I'm going to look up the second one as well, Too Many Secrets. Not today, though.

What I like about them is that it sounds like they're having fun while they're playing. They  sound like... I don't know, some kids that have been waiting and waiting to get the chance to start a band, and then their parents buy them some instruments for christmas (or something). Though all the members have been in other bands before, it now sounds like they get a chance to do whatever they want to.
You can definitely hear influences of old school rock, and maybe earlier stuff, like jazz and blues (though I don't know anything about that, so I shouldn't say anything) Anyway, check them out. They're really good.
